Had a great weekend attending Horror Writers Association’s first StokerCon here in my hometown of Las Vegas. There were some really great panels on the importance of critique groups, the differences between self-publishing, small press, and going big, legal issues for authors, and a discussion on interweaving horror and romance, moderated by my friend and fellow Never Fear author, NY Times bestseller Heather Graham.
We had a good number of Never Fear authors present and did a signing on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately, we were scheduled at the same time as the great R. L. Stine, who was signing in a different room of the convention area. Turn out wasn’t as great as expected, but it was still a blast to get together with the other authors and sign a couple books. The highlight, however, was Jack Ketchum telling Mat Kaufman how much he loved the cover to Lights End.
So, overall a great time. Here’s a couple photos of the crew at our signing. Cheers!
