Hello there! I hope your summer has been well. I hear it’s hot out there. Be sure to drink water and change your socks.
So, you’ve probably been asking yourself, “What’s Aidan been up to these days? He hasn’t had a blog post in a while.” Well, like everyone, I’ve been busy as can be. I’m about a third of the way through my deployment to Afghanistan. If you’ve been paying attention to the news, I’m sure you’re tracking what things are like over yonder. I’ll save the commentary for another day. Until then, I’m trying to cram in as much reading, writing, and writing-related tasks as possible. The big thing on the plate: Getting this manuscript turned into a book! That’s right, by the time I get home in October, Road of the Lost will be ready to go up for pre-order, with an anticipated release date in January 2018.

Stay tuned, because there are going to be plenty of updates, a few Goodreads giveaways, and chances to take a look inside this tome in the future. For starters, I just added an excerpt of our beleaguered heroes having a rough time against ogres, giants, and a nasty elf.
In other news, I officially joined the crew at 13Thirty Books right before I took off. I helped out with editing the newest feature in the Never Fear series: Never Fear: The Apocalypse.
There are some great stories in here. Yes, I am biased, but it’s definitely still worth checking out. William F. Nolan even showed up with a new story in his Logan’s Run series. In fact, I’ll probably read one as soon as I’m done here.
There’s been a lot of great heavy metal that’s come out in the past few months too. Unleash the Archers, Dragonforce, Seven Kingdoms, Bloodbound, Battle Beast, and the kings themselves, Iced Earth, released Incorruptible. I’ll have the save the metal reviews for another day. Probably after I get a chance to listen to Orden Ogen’s new album (which sounds amazing from the two songs they pre-released!) and Blind Guardian’s live album.
That’s the buzz for now. Until next time, stay metal, stay crazy, and God bless.
